i have nothing but great things to say about rane and their products. i specifically asked rane to check and repair everything and anything it needed too. Imo well worth the cost for that crap its been through. I paid $141 including shipping from rane to me to do this. They also replaced all my cue buttons to the new style, cleaned lubed calibrated all the cross faders, a faulty usb jack, all new fader caps. They checked it out and replaced quite a few pots, one of which was actually causing the failure of the headphone signal. Took almost 5 days for them to receive it and about a week to check it out repair and ship back. Great mixer by the way, more refined and updated vs the 57 imo. It would only play on the right side of the headphones.

I recently had an issue with a headphone jack not sending full stereo signal. Ive owned a ttm57sl since back in 07 or 08, ive done a few hundred private events and even more parties among friends and family using this mixer. I personally don't plan on upgrading to SeratoDJ myself because my shit still works and don't get caught up in hype to easily.

Keep in mind SeratoDJ isn't a need and like said above you don't need to upgrade to it. I suggest you try out as many of your preffered mixers first before commiting. Regardless if you have a MK2/M3D/Mk5/M5G technics turntables they all deliver the same thing. You'll be able to do the same thing across the board when it comes to scratching. But personally xfaders within the range of these mixers be it magnetic or like the innofader are all great but it comes down to the user. The Z2 has an innofader which is touted the best xfader around. The 56 xfader is pretty much the same as the 57/61/62. Whatever you choose it'll benefit you either way.Īnd as you can see all these mixers are 2 channel mixers that are pretty much geared towards the scratch dj. Mind you the 57/61/62/Z2 or any mixer with built in soundcards are great for an all in one solution. Having a stand alone mixer is great because you have the option to upgrade your soundcard and not have to replace the mixer. Depending on your needs there are many routes to go.
That being said, the 56/57 will work using SSL regardless of the new SeratoDJ software.

But if you have the SL2,S元,SL4 or a Rane 61 or 62 it will support the new software SeratoDJ come the new year. So Serato Scratch Live will not be updated anymore. Serato DJ was announced recently and the SL1 and the 57 will not be supported after its release. The TTM 56 or 57's are obviously way cheaper than the 60's but are they not worth the buy with Rane announcing they are not supporting them anymore? Are there any other (Rane or other brand) mixers or setups that would work well with my MK5's? But if there are other mixers that hold up to the Rane's and work well with Serato i'm more than comfortable going in that direction. My old (and first) setup was a NS7FX so my experience in mixers are very limited. The only real reason I want a Rane mixer is because I scratch a lot and i'm a Turntablist type DJ and I heard these were that absolute best when it comes to scratching. If I didn't get SSL built into a Rane mixer, I was thinking SS元 (due to price). I have around $800-$1000 to spend on the Mixer and some version of Scratch Live, if I indeed go with Serato. I've already bought some MK5's and now im looking for the best options for the rest. I'm selling my old setup and getting a new Technics 1200's setup.
